Air Earth Fire Water Void Index

Fu or Kaze meaning WIND, represents things that grow, expand, and enjoy freedom of movement. Aside from air, smoke and the like, Fu can in some ways be best represented by the human mind. As we grow physically, we learn and expand mentally as well, in terms of our knowledge, our experiences, ad our personalities. Fu represents breathing, and the internal processes associated with respiration. Mentally and emotionally, it represents an "open-minded" attitude and carefree feeling. It can be associated with will, elusiveness, evasiveness, benevolence, compassion and wisdom.

Friends and Family

Representing emotions and the mind, the element of air seems to most natural place to put my friends and family. These are the people with whom I share a connection, the people with whom I identify, the people who have at various times given me anecdotes to tell, lessons to learn from and who have been there when I needed them most.

Wedding Party

Few of my friends are narcissists. Like myself, the great majority of them don't really like having their photos taken, nor do they like being written about. It's not that we're ugly people, or overly secretive, it's more that we enjoy our private lives and the time we share together rather than the abusiveness and aggressiveness of the outside world.

As a result of this, most of the photography in the albums on this page has come from candid moments. I've become known among certain groups for my assassin's lens, and my skirmish photographs. I tend to find these images give a more natural response, unlike the posed and fake images that most people try to present to the outside world.

Family

Close Family

A family is a place where minds come in contact with one another. If these minds love one another the home will be as beautiful as a flower garden. But if these minds get out of harmony with one another it is like a storm that plays havoc with the garden.

Leah and I

Leah and Michael Wenman
Leah and I first met in 2001, we were engaged in 2002, and married in September 2003. She's like a yin to my yang, and vice versa, because the roles seem to eternally change. I try to be her voice of reason when things go bad for her, and she tries to be my calming influece when I get upset. Born exactly six months apart, it seems to work so far.

Okami

Okami
We found Okami at the RSPCA Dog shelter in Yagoona, in 2004. We weren't allowed to have her at first until she had finished three weeks of intensive therapy, after being found neglected on the street.

Close Friends

Bill

Bill
Bill's just this guy, y' know. (Adapted from a Hitch-hiker's reference to Zaphod Beeblebrox).

Ingrid

Ingrid
Ingrid was the bridesmaid at our wedding and is one of Leah's closest and longest lasting friends. We've helped her out over the years, and she's helped us, sometimes it seems the friendship stretches thin, but it's always bounced back so far.

Phil

Phil
Phil was the purifier at our wedding, and is Ingrid's other half. Phil is a revolutionary, looking for an army. I don't think he'll find it in that bottle of diet coke as he attempts the infamous "Mentos Experiment".

Peter

Peter
I met Peter in 2000, when I started working for Officeworks. He got me pretty much straight away, unlike most people, so it was hardly surprising that we stayed in contact long after we both left that workplace. We lost contact for a few years, but a good friendship picks up again easily after a break.

Old Friends

Dave

Dave Chandraratnam
I met Dave in the Mid 1990's, and lost contact with him around the time I got married. We developed a bit of notoriety on the Sydney roleplaying convention circuit for our freewheeling games of anarchic mayhem. I must track him down again some day.

T-Bone

James Rowling
I lived with T-Bone for two years, and that was a very interesting time. A man of 1000 stories, most of them belonging to someone else, and many of them ending in the phrase "but then he had to go to Singapore and join the army".

Alex

Alex Judge
If I had to describe him in any way, I had to say that Alex was the responsible one of the household when we lived with T-Bone and Richard. Last I heard, he moved back to his homeland of Belgium, a land of "fine chocolate and dodgy finances".

Claudia

Claudia Kassis
When I met Claudia in the mid 1990's she worked at a comic book shop. The kind of girl that all the fan-boys drooled over because she was into the same kinds of stuff that they were.

Sam

Sam Kassis
Same was the fanboy who eventually managed to land Claudia. According to the story he used the old pick-up line that's never meant to work: "Nice Shoes...Wanna %^$*?". I don't know how much faith I put in that story, but it's sums up Sam's devil-may-care attitude.

Phil

Phil Armour
Phil was a good friend for a few years, but a number of incidents arose that gradually pushed us apart. It's a shame how friendships can disappear, I still remember some good time with him though.

Work

While struggling to get my hobbies to turn a profit (or at least get my hobbies to become self sustaining), I spend my working hours (9 to 5; Monday to Friday) working for a company called Plastic Card Printing. What the company does is pretty self evident by it's name.

I redesigned their website when I started working with them, but I predominantly print plastic cards; whether they be membership cards, staff discount cards, security cards, business cards...all sorts of cards. I've been looking for some interesting ways to incorporate these card printing activities into my other projects. I've been thinking of using these cards in the same method as playing cards, with the added advantage that things can be written on them with dry erase markers, then easily rubbed off...but more about that in my blog and on the other half of the site.
